ALLTRAILS REVIEWS: Overall a fantastic hike with breathtaking views at the summit. The trailhead states it is 6.7 miles to the peak, we clocked in at a little under 8 miles, and was around 15 miles round trip. Took us about 11 hours total including a good hour at the summit. The last 2 miles feel more like 4 and are pretty brutal but doable with a lot of short breaks to catch your breath. We went through about 2.5 liters of water each, but there is what looks like a natural spring approximately 2 miles from the top. It’s not easy by any means but definitely doable and worth it!
*We started at 7am on a Saturday. There are a lot of stream crossings, and most of them won’t get your shoes wet. A lot of wildflowers as well. The whole trail is beautiful from meadows to views of the mountains. The first 3 miles are very moderate, and mostly hilly and flat. After that the elevation kicks in topping it off with 2,000 ft elevation gain in the last 2 miles. It’s tough at the last part, but worth it.
